Martha’s Vineyard Small Business Shopping Guide: Preppy Picks

Come with me on a virtual trip to Martha’s Vineyard! I have partnered with Visit Martha’s Vineyard to bring you my preppy picks from some of Martha’s Vineyard’s small businesses!

As a strong year round advocate of small businesses, I was thrilled to learn about these great businesses and to do some shopping from the mainland!

Katydid. Katydid is located in Edgartown and owned by Kate, who pivoted this year to running a website while maintaining her store full of women’s and children’s clothing and accessories.

Martha’s Vineyard Coordinates Pillow – $49 – A simple touch to any Martha’s Vineyard lover’s room!

Roller Rabbit Moby PJ’s- $118– – Do I ever need to say anything about these? And preppy mamas can match their babies and young kids- which I would totally do if I had children!

Driftwood. Driftwood, which opened in May 2015 in Vineyard Haven, supports over 30 local artists. Driftwood also features items created from owner Samantha Church’s college alma mater, SCAD.

Martha’s Vineyard stamp drop necklace- $60 – Made from recycled silver by designer Hannah Marlin, this is such a sweet reminder of the island!

Fish neckace – $90 – A special fish necklace made by designer Laura Artu. I feel like this could be something that you wear every day if you love the ocean like I do!

Scallop and Tourmaline Ring – $570 – Treat yourself to this simple and gorgeous piece from designer Rick Hamilton! Tourmalines are one of my favorite stones!

Rainy Day. Founded in 1973 and a mainstay in Vineyard Haven, Rainy Day sells home goods, puzzles, bath & body, holiday, kids and island trinkets.

Northeastern Harbors Crossbody – $74: A happy bag featuring Martha’s Vineyard and other favorite New England coastal spots.

Reusable Hydrangea Blu Bag – $9.95: I grocery shop with these bags all of the time, and 20 cents per bag is donated to Ocean Conservancy.

Trust. Described as Bohemian Coastal combining the coast and the desert, this Vineyard Haven shop sells sustainably made local and worldwide goods.

Island Bandana – $42: A classic MV bandana, which I would wear around my neck or tied to a cute bag!

Sailor anchor necklace – $36: Great for layering or wear it by itself as a staple piece.

Trust Candle- $36: Described as a post Martha’s Vineyard beach smell, with notes of coconut, amber and salt, it is the type of candle that I would burn all of the time!

Slate. Located in Edgartown, Slate carries local businesses, up and coming designers and clean beauty with an emphasis on community giving and a love of puppies and other good things (read their “about us”)!

Martha’s Vineyard Sweatshirt- $175: Super soft, comes in a rainbow of colors and it is perfect for staying at home this winter!

Button Up Flannel – $218: Another piece to live in for the winter.

Blueberry CBD Gumdrops – $50: CBD has become a lifesaver for me to combat my anxiety induced insomnia. These Lord Jones drops have the prettiest packaging, and at 20g each, they will ensure that I will sleep well!

Sea Legs. A curated lifestyle shack in Edgartown. It says that they live in Whale Jaw Farm with their two cats and over 30 chickens, so I obviously want to be their new best friend!

Chappaquiddick Company Whale Salad Servers – $58: Are you even a prep if you don’t have whale salad servers? Read about the company’s sourcing and creating process here.

Prep School Blazer – $125: By BlankNYC, blazer looks a lot more expensive than it is. I could dress this up or down.

Elton John Ornament- $20: How cute is this?!? The details!

Martha’s Vineyard Made – This shop has an amazing array of products from local makers, and they strive to introduce Martha’s Vineyard artists and artisans to the island and to the rest of the world!

Island Sycamore Maple Serving Board– $425: Such a special piece by Rafter Revier. This one is something to pass down to future generations of MV lovers.

MV Winter Candle- $29.99: Made by Vineyard Wick and Bath, you need to read the description of the scents that are included in this candle!

Tea For Two Gift Box – $179.99: Tea all winter for this prep! I love these gift boxes filled with local goodies!

Stina Stayre. Swedish former international windsurfing champion (how cool is THAT?!) Stina moved to the Vineyard in 1986 and opened her shop in 1989 in Vineyard Haven featuring her designs made locally and with love.

Hood Blazer – $303: A hooded fleece blazer? This wins the quarantine game.

Reversible Cotton Striped Scarf- $129: Ecologically produced and in two classic color patterns. A great year round option!

Jeanne D’Arc Medallion Necklace – $388: Eek! So French, with a bit of prep added!

Austin Designs. Named after designer and owner Rachel Baumrin’s grandmother, Rachel is a one woman shop living her dream after decades of hard work on the island.

Boat Tote- $118: A classic, preppy staple!

Reversible Linen Shawl – $120: It is no secret that I have adored and worn shawls, wraps and ponchos for over a decade. There are so many versatile choices here, but I love the sage and slate combo.

Small Heat Pack – $32: Not so preppy, but a nod to my cat lady status!
