Spa Time And An End of the Day Visit to Plymouth

I rarely take sick days because I work from home- so even when I am sick, I still work.  I have a good amount accumulated, and my nice bosses don’t let them expire.

After struggling through a few miserable days and not taking a sick day, I took one on Friday, and I treated myself to some time at the spa with a friend who needed a massage just as badly (likely more since she’s pregnant).

I headed to Mirabeau Spa at Pinehills, and what an amazing day!  It was almost 70 in February, and was a record breaker for MA.So pretty – like a chateau, and they have a French restaurant!  The waiting/quiet area is really cool.  We spent some time there, which was lovely.   My friend took a little detour to snoozeville,  and I went outside to the hot tub.   It felt like spring out there!  I never would have expected it would be so warm!I did not have a drink because I was still recovering from the bug, but every other woman and the one man out there (out of 20 people) was kicking back and toasting the weekend!

We headed to the restaurant for a bite, although I am not a big flatbread person, I was still in the BRAT recovery stages, so I split a yummy artichoke, mushroom and goat cheese flatbread.I couldn’t resist the warm mushroom salad, so I didn’t.  Although I only ate about half of the food, I was glad that I chose it.  That’s an egg, not cheese! My girlfriend got the bolognese, which she obliterated.   We enjoyed catching up, eating delicious food and drinking virgin drinks that tasted like spring! It was too gorgeous to call it a day after the spa, so I headed to Plymouth solo to walk around and enjoy the late afternoon.  I found an adorable bakery, Guilty Bakery.I browsed antique shops, and I was really tempted!  But, I stuck to my resolution and I didn’t do it!I saw a few seaside items that I added to my win-the-lottery wishlist.  That brilliant octopus candlebra is $500!I found a delicious juice bar, Vela, where I had a shot of ginger and apple for my tummy and got a bowl of goodness to go.I walked around the historic area, remembering why I love seaside towns in Massachusetts so much.  Where else can you find lobster art?!What a great day!  I put my global warming worries aside and relished a rare “spring” day.

Plymouth, I’ll be back soon, and I may be leaving with the lobster serving tray!
