Naples Getaway

Apologies for the post hiatus.  I really needed to get away and warm up.  I HATE cold and snow.  Counting the years until I can move for the winter…

Fortunately, my Mom’s best friend/my godmother retired in Naples. Even more fortunately, she loves laying out in the sun.

Naples and the surrounding towns have a ton to do, but the main activities that we engaged in were pool, beach and food.  And a little shopping at the end!

Day 1: Lunch at Three60 Market, a quick trip to Fresh Market for healthy breakfast and snack items, some pool time.img_0716Followed by dinner at Yabba Island Grill. On my plate: some local oysters,  an organic kale Caesar salad with very little kale and pan seared golden tile fish.img_0744OOTN: 525 America crab sweater and my Bosom Buddies custom bag.

Stopped in Tracy Negoshian and Castaway Nantucket.  And Best of Everything!Day 2: All day by the pool until early evening, when there were cocktails by the chickie.OOTN: Mudpie Whale Tunic and pants by Primark.Dinner was the best Indian Food that I have ever eaten in America.  On my plate: lobster mulligatawny soup, an insane tandoori grilled seafood plate (above) with a half lobster tail, and a shared GUAVA sorbet.

Day 3: Sue had to run to the airport to get a friend, so I spent the WHOLE DAY at Lowdermilk Beach.  I walked several miles for almost 2 hours to and from the pier.Lunch at First Watch: my favorite little breakfast/lunch place.  Their kale tonic is INSANE!  All veggie lunch and so delicious.  Their granola is some of my favorite and a great deal.  I grabbed 2 bags to take back with me.Sue joined me post-lunch, and we stayed several more hours to catch the sunset.  What a treat to watch a sunset on the beach and not have to leave the country to do it in early February!

OOTD: Top It Off Lobster Tunic and Tommy Hilfiger striped cotton dress. Dinner was casual at Bill’s Seafood and Steak.  On my plate: seafood ceviche and grouper tacos.

Day 4: Friday was an unexpected treat- Sue and I joined her friend at her friend’s beach club on Marco Island.  The beach was a sheltered inlet and I was not prepared for the amazing shells.Ootd: super comfy and beach club perfect shift by Duffield Lane.

Lunch: cracked crab and a tuna salad.

Dinner was a burger place, and they had amazing selection for my veggie burgers.Day 5: Another pool day of relaxing and swimming for me, and catching up on gossip for Sue.  Before my flight that night, we hit Miramar outlets and had some insanely good Mexican.  I am not used to real restaurants at outlets.img_0928 Back to New England for Super Bowl and snow.
