If you follow my Instagram or have read other blog posts, you have undoubtedly read about my frustration about how Lilly Pulitzer has gone from preppy to neon, cheap and overall pretty trashy looking.
For many years, I felt that way about J. Crew. I am thrilled to say that J. Crew has, for the most part, dispensed with the neon and gone back to classic, Preppy pieces that are really good quality.
I went to my local J. Crew to try on some of the many things that caught my eye. Lighting was absolutely horrendous (forgive the selfies), but I was able to get an idea of how everything looked and fit.
I liked the red pants (although I have a similar pair from Talbots.
The pink and white striped bell sleeve top was cute, but a little tight in the arms. It’s fitted there, so if arms are a sensitive area for you and you don’t want a big gap in material in the waist, you may want to skip it.This window pane top is cute and comfy. Great piece to put under suits too!I love this off the shoulder top- just didn’t get a good shot of it from the front. The bows on the sleeves are adorable!Whales AND a striped top with 50% of the price going to Save The Whales – no brainer!!I would only do yellow in the summer. I like the anchor detail.I couldn’t get a good shot of this jacket, but I LOVE it- so classic with the Liberty trim. I would buy this a size up.
