Nantucket Daffodil Festival is the official kickoff to the Nantucket season. The island is dressed in yellow, from the daffodils in bloom to the shops decked out, to the people and animals dressed in their most creative yellow and to the antique cars and the incredible Sconset tailgate.
This year, to keep us all safe, the 2020 Daffodil Festival was cancelled well in advance of the weekend. It is completely understandable, but I was crushed nonetheless.
My friend Jane organized a small gathering of friends for a little Daffy cocktail hour, and I could not help but put a little tablescape together.
I wanted to have a part of Nantucket with me at my table, and I had just gotten my Nantucket State of Mind plastic wine glasses from Nantucket brand A Salty Soul. By owner Erin’s own words (I could not have said it better), A Salty Soul “is a casual lifestyle brand for those who simply love the sea and are passionate about giving back.”
This week, from April 27th through May 1st, A Salty Soul is donating 30% of sales from the Nantucket State of Mind line and 15% of sales from everything else to Nantucket Food Fuel Rental Assistance. I have the unisex hoodie, and it is the most comfortable sweatshirt that I have ever owned!
I bought some daffodils and tulips from a local nursery, and I decorated my table with a few before we planted them.
Celebrations are a little different these days. It was so nice to hop on a Zoom session with a small group of nice people.
Our little happy hour flew by! My St. Germain and soda was delicious, and I got a little buzz from it!
You can shop A Salty Soul’s Nantucket State of Mind line and everything else on their site here.It is the best feeling to support a small business, and even more so to support one who is a friend and who gives back to her community every chance she gets.
Have a good week, and don’t forget to shop and support!
